BBS Spotlight - Casey Hemphill
This week’s BBS Spotlight focuses on BBS associate, Casey Hemphill! Casey works in the firm’s Pittsburgh Office, where he focuses his practice on automobile liability matters. Casey earned his J.D. from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law in 2020. During Law School, Casey was the Teaching Assistant for the Cyber Law and Policy Seminar, taught by Professor David Hickton. In that time, Casey also helped lead the successful effort to expand the Allegheny County Bar Association’s Diversity Clerkship Program, to allow for the participation of additional members of diverse backgrounds from law schools across the region. Casey attended college at Kent State University, where he graduated from in 2017. During his undergraduate years, Casey had the unique opportunity to serve as an Associate in the White House Office of Presidential Correspondence. In that role, Casey read letters directed to the 44th President, and helped select the 10 letters the President read each evening. In 2019, Casey was privileged to publicly speak about his experience of serving at the White House, in delivering the keynote address for Jean Marie Laskas’ NYT Bestseller, To Obama, with Love, Joy, Anger and Hope at the initial book tour event. Prior to joining BBS, Casey served as an Assistant District Attorney for the Allegheny County District Attorney’s Office. Outside of work, Casey enjoys serving his community, attending fitness classes and cheering on the Pitt Panthers with his friends and family.
