Alex R. Garriga is a member at the firm’s New York office where his primary focus is on special investigations and fraud. Prior to joining the firm, Alex served as a senior associate and supervising attorney for a Wall Street law firm representing a New York State insurance carrier. Alex has successfully handled many declaratory judgment actions in New York State Supreme Court which resulted in millions of dollars in savings for his client. Alex has also successfully defended thousands of matters in arbitration and in court. Aside from his experience in insurance defense, Alex has helped individuals in estate planning and administration matters, personal injury, workers’ compensation and has served as a court appointed fiduciary where he has accepted appointments as a court evaluator in Mental Hygiene Law article 81 matters brought in New York State Supreme Court.
Alex earned his Juris Doctor from Widener University School of Law in Wilmington, Delaware, during which time he served as a law clerk for the Honorable Nathaniel C. Nichols in the Delaware County Court of Common Pleas in Media, Pennsylvania and for the Honorable Tanya R. Kennedy in New York State Supreme Court, County of New York.
From 2022-2024, Alex was named a New York Metro Super Lawyer® Rising Star [i] .
Alex is a native New Yorker, having been born and raised in Queens, New York. Alex’s interests include DJ’ing (a former New York City nightclub DJ), traveling, trying new restaurants and spending time with his wife, Tania, and their two daughters.
