Rutu Patel is an associate at the firm’s Philadelphia office, where she is a member of the workers’ compensation department. She began her career at Bennett, Bricklin & Saltzburg LLC as an Associate in 2024.
In 2024, Rutu graduated with a Juris Doctor and a Certificate in Corporate & Business Law from Rutgers Law School in Camden, New Jersey. Upon graduation, Rutu received the Pro Bono Publico Award for Significant Service. While at Rutgers Law, Rutu served as treasurer of the South Asian Law School Association. Additionally, Rutu was a member of the Honorable Judith H. Wizmur Bankruptcy Pro Bono Project where she assisted clients in filing Chapter 7 bankruptcies and the Planning Estates Project where she prepared wills, powers of attorney, and living wills for elderly, low-income Camden area residents. Formerly, Rutu worked as a Judicial Intern to the Honorable Sharon A. King in the United States District Court, District of New Jersey and as a year-long legal intern with Subaru of America Headquarters in Camden, New Jersey.
In 2021, Rutu graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts from Rutgers University School of Arts and Sciences Honors Program where she majored in Psychology and Criminal Justice and minored in Political Science. She completed a capstone in Applied Behavior Analysis & Autism and Pediatric Feeding Disorders. At Rutgers University, Rutu served as President and Professional Fraternity Council Chair of her pre-law fraternity, Phi Alpha Delta, and Director of Tutoring and Public Relations of Psi Chi Honor Society. She was also a member of Gamma Sigma Alpha National Academic Greek Honor Society, Habitat for Humanity, Rutgers Dance Marathon, and was a peer mentor for Psychological Alliance.
In her spare time, Rutu enjoys travelling, listening to music, painting, making kombucha, and spending time with friends and family.
