A 1975 graduate of the University of Pennsylvania Law School, Paul F. Lantieri is a partner of Bennett, Bricklin & Saltzburg LLP. He chairs the products liability practice group and, dividing his time between Philadelphia and Lancaster, is the partner in charge of the firm's central Pennsylvania office.
Since joining Bennett, Bricklin & Saltzburg LLP in 1977, Paul has represented clients in virtually every facet of civil litigation. In recent years, he has focused his practice in the environmental and toxic tort areas. He has been involved in the DES and asbestos litigation, with respect to both coverage and liability issues, virtually since the inception of those suits in the Philadelphia area. He has defended clients in environmental claims, including a defendant in the very first action brought under the Federal Superfund Law, and also defendants in "sick building" cases. Paul has successfully defended a number of manufacturers of industrial and household products against claims that those substances had toxic effects. Included were individual and class action suits brought against a manufacturer of lead paint. He also has represented property owners in lead poisoning suits and is involved in the defense of claims arising out of alleged exposure to benzene-based products and latex gloves. In addition, he has authored various articles relating to coverage and other aspects of civil litigation.
Paul also handles professional liability claims brought against accountants and notaries public. In addition, in the products liability field, he has had a substantial amount of experience defending suppliers whose products are alleged to have caused or contributed to fires.
Paul believes that one of a lawyer's most important functions is to provide clients with prompt, honest and accurate assessments of the merits of their cases and the costs associated with litigation. He views the lawyer-client relationship as a partnership which can be successful only if there is frequent and open communication.
