Karishma M. Patel began working at Bennett, Bricklin & Saltzburg LLP as a Law Clerk in 2006. After graduating from Temple University’s Beasley School of Law, she accepted a position as an Associate in the Philadelphia office. She currently works in the firm’s Special Investigations and Fraud Unit.
Born and raised in Philadelphia, Karishma attended the Pennsylvania State University and obtained Bachelor’s degrees in Psychology and Political Science. During her final undergraduate semester, she studied abroad on a Semester At Sea program, visiting countries including Cuba, South Africa and Japan. She was also lead actress in a film entered in the 2003 Philadelphia Film Festival. During her college summers, Karishma worked for a small personal injury law firm, which inspired her to go to law school.
Karishma attended Widener University School of Law for her first year of law school, where she was awarded the Certificate of Achievement in Legal Methods/Analysis and Writing. After her first year, she worked as a law clerk for the City of Philadelphia Law Department, Civil Rights Unit. She then transferred to Temple University’s Beasley School of Law and obtained her Juris Doctorate in 2007. While at Temple, Karishma received clinical training at the Federal Defender’s office and the Temple Legal Aid office, specifically working with public benefits as they relate to persons with chronic illness and physical disabilities. She was also a member of the Temple Political & Civil Rights Law Review and the South Asian Law Student Association. For two years, Karishma served on the executive board of the Student Bar Association. In her third year, she served as a teaching assistant for Trial Advocacy students.
Karishma speaks fluent Gujarati and basic Hindi. She enjoys dancing, watching television, cooking and spending time with her parents. Her passion in life is world travel. |
