Jim Blumenthal joined Bennett, Bricklin & Saltzburg LLP in 2006 as an associate. He currently works on the firm’s ‘Special Investigations and Fraud’ team, where he defends clients who have been sued in cases where the claim is thought to be suspicious or fraudulent. Litigation is the focus of his work.
Prior to joining the firm, Jim served as an Assistant District Attorney, then Deputy, in the Bucks County District Attorney’s Office for four years. In the DA’s Office, he spent the majority of his time in the courtroom. Over the course of his career, Jim prosecuted a myriad of jury and bench trials to verdict, including cases involving drug trafficking, white collar crimes, domestic and child abuse, and attempted homicide among others.
Jim graduated from the American University Washington College of Law in 2002. While in law school he clerked for the U.S. Attorney’s office in Greenbelt, Maryland and worked for the Office of the Commonwealth’s Attorney in Arlington, Virginia.
Originally from the Philadelphia area, Jim graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 1999. He lives in South Philly with his wife, Chrissy, and their daughter, Alice Anne. In his spare time, Jim enjoys going to the Philadelphia Museum of Art with Chrissy and Alice. The trio can also be frequently spotted at the Melrose Diner.
