David E. Prewitt graduated from Duke University Law School, and then went to work as a Trial Attorney for the Aviation Litigation Unit of US Department of Justice in Washington, DC. After gaining significant aviation litigation experience, he entered the private practice of law. In 1998, David became of counsel to Bennett, Bricklin & Saltzburg LLP.

David has a substantial amount of aviation experience. He has over 3,800 flight hours in helicopters and airplanes and is qualified in Instruments. He is a Colonel in the U.S. Army Reserves, and is a graduate of the Air War College.

For more than fifteen years he has been certified as a Civil Trial Advocate by the National Board of Trial Advocacy. He has a substantial amount of jury trial experience involving a wide variety of litigation matters. He is a former Chairman of the Aeronautical & Space Law Committee of the Pennsylvania Bar Association, and is also a past chairman of the Aviation Law Committee of the Philadelphia Bar Association. In addition to being a member of the Lawyer-Pilots Bar Association,  he is a past president of the Philadelphia Association of Defense Counsel. He serves as a Judge Pro Tem for the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas, and also serves as a Mediator for the United States District Court in Philadelphia. In addition to being a member of the Pennsylvania Bar, he also is a member of the Florida Bar.

David's practice encompasses aviation litigation matters, as well as product liability and general litigation matters. His practice also includes property insurance litigation, as well as workers compensation subrogation. He has published numerous articles in legal periodicals on the subjects of aviation law, products liability law, property insurance law and general trial issues. David is active in the Philadelphia Bar Association and recently served as co-chair of The Rules and Procedures Committee. In addition he has been a long time member of the Committee of Seventy (a civic watchdog group), and he has been a leader in alumni affairs of Dartmouth College, where he has served on the Alumni Council.
